Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. The actress is best known because of her part as the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded an Emmy Award. Her roles include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. She was born as the only child to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a homemaker Delaney grew up with her four brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter during childhood but started modelling while at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved from New York. In 1981, she starred as an innocent teenager in All My Children. Delaney was in numerous of TV movies, film and dramatics since then. Her personal life unlike her professional one has nt been a success and has not been happy. In the past, this gifted actress was struggling to overcome addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to that failed. In 2005, her custody was taken away from her.
